Felt Landscapes Workshop

Join Gill Ferguson for a morning of creating a felt landscape. Working with merino fleece we'll create colourful, textured landscapes. We'll used silk, and Wensleydale curls to add surface interest and detail.

This workshop is the perfect introduction to wet felting. During the workshop you will work from a favourite landscape photograph and translate it into a felt artwork.

In the morning we will layout the landscape picture with merino fibres and then wet felt the fleece using soap and water. Details can be added later using the needle felting technique. You will have the opportunity to use a wide variety of fleece, exploring colour and texture to add interest and detail to your work.

Please bring a landscape picture you'd like to work from, this can be a greetings card, photo or sketch. Can you also bring an old bath towel with you to cover the tables with as we'll be working with water.

The Details

This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our Marquee. Please wear suitable clothing, although it is heated on cooler days. Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, a freshly prepared lunch, and a home-baked sweet treat. Seating in the Marquee is metal chairs or benches, so you may wish to bring a cushion to sit on.
