Fused Glass Giant Snowflakes Workshop - Tuesday 5th November 2024
Join Roxy Denny from RD Glass and learn how to make your own giant snowflake ornament. Learn a new skill and have fun being creative with hands on instruction and freedom to create your own design.
In this workshop you will learn how to score and break sheet glass then create your unique snowflake design. The finished piece will be approximately 18 x 18 cm and will include a hanging ribbon.
We will choose a mixture of glass in colours of your choice which we will cut into strips before assembling in your own, unique pattern. Roxy will demonstrate her own work as shown in the photos and then support you to make your own unique piece of glass art. Please feel free to bring inspiration for the shape and style of your snowflake.
Your work will then be carefully transported to Roxy’s studio where it will be fired in a glass kiln and finally be returned to Beetham Nurseries for you to collect (takes 2/3weeks). Alternatively postage is available at a cost of £5, payable to Roxy on the day. All materials are included in the course fee.
Glass is sharp by nature and small cuts are a possibility. Safety glasses are provided but please ensure that you are wearing closed shoes for this workshop. Age 16+ unless otherwise agreed.
The Details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our Marquee. Please wear suitable clothing, although it is heated on cooler days. Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, and a home-baked sweet treat. Seating in the Marquee is metal chairs or benches, so you may wish to bring a cushion to sit on.

When buying online, your tickets will be emailed to you, which you do not need to print prior to arrival. On arrival at the workshop, you will be given a ticket which acts as a 10% voucher whilst you’re here with us on the day of your workshop. So don’t forget to make the most of some shopping time before or after your workshop!
Please note the voucher cannot be used against Garden Furniture, in The Garden Cafe, or The Food Hall.
